How can a temporary workplace become a lasting expression of stewardship, identity, and connection to place?
March Studio partnered with the City of Santa Monica to transform a collection of temporary office trailers into a cohesive workplace for the Clover Park Management Office. Working within a constrained budget and an active park environment, the design reimagined a conventional facilities project as an opportunity to create a workplace that reflects the organization’s mission and strengthens its relationship with the surrounding landscape.
An integrated architectural and landscape approach unifies existing and new structures, creating a welcoming environment that supports collaboration, daily operations, and connection to nature. Carefully considered materials, outdoor spaces, and site improvements establish a stronger sense of identity while seamlessly integrating the workplace into the character of the park.
More than a functional office, the project demonstrates how thoughtful design can elevate everyday civic spaces. By reinforcing the connection between people, workplace, and landscape, the Clover Park Management Office creates an environment that supports both the wellbeing of staff and the stewardship of the community they serve.
